How To Make Your Wardrobe Work For Every Season

Who doesn’t want to look fabulous every day, but mornings are bad, and it’s really hard to decide what to wear. Here are some tips (although we know you are a fashionista) so you can look alluring every day with your own wardrobe. So, here’s how to plan your wardrobe the right way.

1. Plan Plan Plan!

We plan everything, right? What to eat, where to go or not, whom to talk, etc. So, why not your attire? Take out a few minutes or an hour from your week and plan what you are going to wear the whole week. You must remember the important dates if there are any in each week so that your planning won’t go bizarre. We always plan what we are eating for the whole week and make sure that the ingredients are available, then it’s high time you make an outfit chart and your bad morning won’t become as bad since you don’t have to decide what to wear.

2. Don’t forget the 2-year rule

Unless a piece has sentimental value, always follow the two-year rule: if you haven’t worn it in two years, get rid of it. It can be hard to let go of old clothing you don’t wear anymore. You might feel guilty that you never wore that shirt that you bought impulsively, or maybe you’re clinging onto the hope that one day you’ll finally be able to rock those leopard-print pants that just never seem quite right. When it comes to spring cleaning, ruthlessness is necessary. Keep in mind that your end goal is to have a smaller closet full of things you love to wear, rather than an overstuffed wardrobe crowded with outdated pieces.

3. Upgrade your closet

No, No! We aren’t talking about your clothes, it’s about the accessories. Get rid of those mismatched wire and plastic hangers and upgrade to a set of wood or cloth hangers to give your closet an instant lift. You can find affordable hanger sets at stores like Ikea, Kmart, and Target. Plus, they’ll be easier on sweaters and delicate knits than wire hangers that may pull the fabric. You may also want to consider investing in sturdy shoe racks and upgrading old laundry bags and storage boxes.

4. Swap them up!

One girl’s giveaway item is another girl’s favourite new piece for spring. So, instead of throwing away your outdated pieces, organize a clothing swap with a group of girlfriends to trade old clothes, shoes, jewellery and accessories for something new that you’ll enjoy. A clothing swap can be a fun social activity and a great way to make it easier to part with your unwanted items.

5. Honesty is the best policy

The most important thing to keep in mind when tackling your spring closet cleaning is to be brutally honest with yourself about what you wear, what you don’t and what you wear but maybe don’t like very much. The fact that you were given something as a gift or bought it on sale doesn’t mean that it’s worth keeping. If you don’t love it and you don’t need it. So toss it! There’s no shame in getting rid of something that doesn’t add awesomeness to your wardrobe. Try to make room for what you do need.
